Once upon a time, there was a wonderful story — Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid, and the exotic Firebird legend — and a composer who set that story to memorable music. Our spring concert features fairy tales set to music and stories told in folk songs. You will enjoy music by Tchaikovsky, Percy Grainger, and Stravinsky, as well as themes from Disney movies, a Japanese folk song, and a medley of old American folk songs.
